Discover Restaurante Caxiri Manaus

Restaurante Caxiri Manaus offers a delightful blend of local Amazonian flavors and traditional Brazilian cuisine that makes it stand out in the heart of Manaus. Located at Rua 10 de Julho, 495 in the Centro district, this cozy spot is a favorite among locals and tourists alike who are looking to indulge in an authentic taste of the region. If you’re in Manaus, a visit to this restaurant is a must!

The restaurant’s warm, inviting ambiance immediately makes you feel at home. As you step inside, the rustic decor reflects the rich culture of Manaus, giving you a true sense of place. Whether you're here for lunch or dinner, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between casual and classy, making it a great choice for any occasion, whether you're with family, friends, or on a date.

When it comes to the menu, Restaurante Caxiri Manaus truly excels. One of the standout features is its extensive list of local dishes, many of which are hard to find outside the region. One of the most popular items on the menu is the traditional tambaqui, a local fish that’s native to the Amazon River. Grilled to perfection, it offers a smoky flavor that pairs beautifully with the vibrant sides such as farofa and vinagrete. For those who prefer something a little different, the maniçoba-a dish made from cassava leaves slow-cooked with pork-offers a taste of Amazonian history in every bite.

For a truly local experience, try the cachorro do mato (wild boar hot dog), a unique twist on a Brazilian classic, combining savory meat with zesty toppings. The menu also offers a variety of hearty stews, fresh salads, and expertly made grilled meats, making it clear that Restaurante Caxiri Manaus takes pride in offering both variety and quality.

The staff at Restaurante Caxiri are friendly and attentive, ensuring that every meal is served with a smile. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, you’ll feel well taken care of throughout your dining experience. The service is quick but never rushed, allowing guests to savor every moment of their meal. This attention to detail in both food and service has earned the restaurant numerous positive reviews, with many praising the authenticity of the dishes and the comfort of the dining space.

Another highlight of dining here is the drink menu, which showcases traditional Amazonian beverages like guaraná juice and cajuína, a sweet drink made from cashew fruit. For those who enjoy cocktails, the bar serves a variety of refreshing drinks made with local fruits and spirits, such as caipirinhas made from fresh lime and sugarcane.

Restaurante Caxiri Manaus doesn’t just focus on great food-it also takes the time to highlight local ingredients and sustainable practices. Many of the restaurant's offerings come directly from the surrounding region, supporting local farmers and fishermen. By prioritizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients, they ensure that each dish not only tastes good but also reflects the culture and environment of the Amazon.

If you’re in Manaus and looking for a place to experience authentic Amazonian cuisine, this is the spot to visit. Restaurante Caxiri Manaus brings together flavor, culture, and history in a way that few other places can. Whether you’re enjoying a casual lunch or celebrating a special occasion, you’re sure to leave feeling full, satisfied, and connected to the heart of this unique part of Brazil.

  • This restaurant is an absolute marvel and a must-visit, especially if you're experiencing a bit of "Amazonian flavor fatigue." While they stay true to regional ingredients and techniques, the overall dining experience is anything but typical. It feels incredibly contemporary, novel, creative, and delightfully playful. The location itself is stunning. The restaurant has a beautiful, super well-decorated space with an interesting music selection and a great ambiance. But the real showstopper is the view! Make every effort to snag a table right by the window for a breathtaking perspective of the Manaus Opera House (Teatro Amazonas)—it adds an incredible layer of magic to the meal. I ordered the carpaccio and the Pirarucu fillet, and both were an absolutely strange, unexpected, and utterly delicious explosion of flavors. They manage to take the regional cuisine and elevate it through unique plating and innovative techniques, making it a completely sui generis experience. It's a fantastic, fresh take on local dishes. My only slight critique is that the service could be a little better—it wasn't bad, but perhaps a bit less attentive than the quality of the food and setting demands. Despite that minor point, I highly, highly recommend this restaurant. It's truly a gem!

  • Clearly the best restaurant in Manaus in all aspects. The food was exceptional, my husband and I both had an amazing dinner. And plus, the price was very reasonable for their service. All the plates are nicely dished and well served. The restaurant was very busy but they were managed perfectly by super staffs. Most of the staffs don’t speak English but they were all friendly kind and helpful. We loved Tambaqui dumplings, grilled Piranha and grilled Tambaqui with pineapple. Açai ice-cream was so good too.

  • Great location! Cozy and beautiful place. Outstanding staff! Amazing food! I eat three different dishes, each one with its own local flavors and combination of ingredients. You won't be disappointed. Vegetarian food. Good variety of fish options (raw, cooked, fried). Duck in local style. Excellent draft local beer.

  • Set in an original Portuguese manor, this restaurant combines the flavors of the Amazon region with the fresh take of fine dining. We were pleasantly surprised with the mixing of flavors. A great way for Western travelers to get acquainted with the local flavors, while not feeling too out of their comfort zone. This restaurant is very busy so make sure you have a reservation or that you can wait.

  • Let me tell you…. Few days ago my husband and I went on a tour and we asked our tour guide if the knew some good restaurants where we could eat good Amazon meals. Caxiri was on top of the list and they were no wrong, each plate was delicious and very artistically served, this restaurant also has a cellar with a range of good wines. If you are coeliac this the place to eat even dessert were gluten free!!!! We deserve restaurants like this one.
